Im a full time wildlife photographer and conservationist based in West Dorset with a particular interest in Lepidoptera, Odonata, Avian, Fungi, Myxomycetes (Slime Moulds) and Infra-red landscapes.
Ever since an early age I have had an avid interest in nature and the world around me. Keen to know more I began to research the wildlife and flora and fauna around me, it wasn’t long before I began to take photographs. As my interest in the natural world progressed I invested in my first camera to capture images of the birds and insects I had grown to love and I am passionate about sharing my knowledge, ‘best practices’ and skills.
My first camera was an Olympus OM10 which I purchased over 40 years ago and it was using this that taught me the fundamentals of photography. Over 30 years experience using Canon and Olympus cameras
Gaining knowledge and experience with the 35mm manual focus system, then I moved on to digital Canon cameras some years ago. i now use the Olympus micro four thirds system. (OM System Cameras and lenes)
My understanding of the subject and environment plays an important role in my photography and as a responsible photographer of wildlife, I always put the welfare of the subject’s life and care of the environment above any photographs I take.
